The video for Janelle Monáe's newest single, Tightrope, premiered online today. And as expected, the Big Boi protégé's video had every element that makes her great; theatrics, dancing, that infectious bass beat and her signature style. And it's her style that leaves me in awe, bringing a freshness to her music. Rather than the use of glizzam! (namely sequins, glitter and flashy lights) she throws in clean lines, monochromatism and androgyny. And you know this short girl right here is ALL about the androgyny and cropped pants, right?
